This video is the first of two presentations that provides a different approach to the recording of Blues Theme #1. The video is intended to support the accompanying score (see link for score download below). It covers the essence of the musical theme upon which Blues musicians can embellish and improvise in order to fully develop its melodic and harmonic characteristics. The video was produced by blending two takes – one in which the guitarist plays an acoustic guitar, and a second in which an electric guitar is played. The alternate version of this video (Blues Theme #1b) has the electric guitar assuming the lead, while in this video the acoustic guitar plays the lead.
